GUNS AND RELIGION MAKE AN 18% REPRESENTATION -- A MAJORITY

Yet again another imbecilic knee jerk reaction from the UMNO youth on the crises in the Middle East and this comes from the ambitious SIL of Pak Lah .. a man supposedly endowed with superior intellect. His statement of “Israeli aggression” would have many of his detractors nodding in agreement and warmed many an Islamist heart.
Surely he would have known that it was the Islamist Hezbollah who provoked the attack by kidnapping 2 soldiers from Israeli soil. Hezbollah has only an 18% representation in the Lebanese government and yet they have traitorously hijacked and plunge Lebanon into a war they can never win for their political masters, Syria and Iran.
The representatives of Malaysian government should not be making half-ass populist remarks but should instead press for the total implementation of UN resolution 1559 some of which are -

Reaffirms its call for the strict respect of the sovereignty, territorial integrity, unity, and political independence of Lebanon under the sole and exclusive authority of the Government of Lebanon throughout Lebanon;
· Calls upon all remaining foreign forces to withdraw from Lebanon;
· Calls for the disbanding and disarmament of all Lebanese and non- Lebanese militias;
· Supports the extension of the control of the Government of Lebanon over all Lebanese territory."

Force Israel to stop, urges Umno Youth

Umno Youth has urged the superpowers, especially the United States, to force Israel to stop its aggression on Palestine and Lebanon.
Its vice-chairman Khairy Jamaluddin said the aggression could prompt certain parties to carry out counter-attacks against Israel or its allies in other parts of the world. “We are asking superpower nations to act fast to force Israel to stop the aggression in Palestine and Lebanon. We also ask the United Nations to do its duty in putting a stop to the aggression,” he said here yesterday.

Quotes from prominent Lebanese on the current situation :

.... Walid Jumblatt (Druze Leader) : Hezbollah Played a Very Dangerous Game by Kidnapping the Soldiers; It is Raising the Stakes, With the Support of Iran and of Syria - Which in the Past Year has Become a Satellite State of Tehran.
.... Lebanese Communications Minister: Syrian VP Gives Commands, Hezbollah Carries Them Out.
.... Former Lebanese President Amin Jumail told Al-Jazeera on July 12, 2006: "What occurred today is something very dangerous... We all know that decisions relating to war and peace are sovereign decisions that need to be taken by the government. The initiative that was taken [by Hezbollah] will entangle the country in controversial military actions... This is a great danger to Lebanon, since it is not willing to be the spearhead of the Arab-Israeli conflict so long as Syria's borders are calm and not a single shot [is being fired] from Syria on the Golan Heights."
