BACK OFF AND EARN THE RESPECT OF THE RAKYAT.

There are far more important things that can better the rakyat aspiration then that of street renaming.
The Perak DAP says " more than 70% of Jalan Silibin folk agree with the proposal to rename the road". So does that mean that it is all right to disregard the minority 30%?.
And if statistic is used as the yardstick to gauge the agreement on the renaming of Jalan Sibilin, Oceanbiru is certain that the Umno Run Federal Government (URFeG) can conjure up a better than 90% agreement on the same issue.
Statistics are like some URFeG ministers, they mislead and sometimes if it needs be, they do not tell the whole truth.

The DAP should instead concentrate on what is important - building a broad political base and goodwill amongst the races. They cannot afford to be blinded by the power that has been handled to them.
Winning today small battle and losing 2013 war is definitely not a good trade off.
The war for real reform like the Iraqi war has not ended.
Back off and earn the respect of the rakyat.
More importantly don't be an idea idiot.

DAP state representatives have produced a street survey revealing that more than 70% of Jalan Silibin folk agree with the proposal to rename the road after former Perak DAP chairman P. Patto.
Ipoh Barat MP and local councillor M. Kulasegaran said yesterday that the survey was conducted over three days following protests by certain quarters over the proposal.
He said of the 74 respondents interviewed, 55 supported the idea while 12 disagreed and seven were neutral.
“We made sure we got the views of a multiracial group of people so that all races were represented,” he said. The survey, conducted by Kulasegaran, Buntong assemblyman A. Sivasubramaniam and several local councillors, focused on business owners and residents along Jalan Silibin

How come no one gives a shit (except jalan alor) when the BN government kept renaming road names for the past 51 years after some dead politicians?

The same reason as to why no one has ever dared to loudly mentioned the reason for the dominance of Malays in the civil service.... apathy and the presence of fear.
