STOKING THE FIRE OF TRUTH

It only takes a spark from the rakyat on the 8th of March to set this passionate fire of change aflame.
And even as this fire remains burning let us as a nation pursue equality and fair play for all regardless of race, creed or color.
Let us then reaffirm the social contract of the 1957 constitution of Malaysia.
Let each true patriot of Malaysia continue to stoke the fire of truth even more.
That real justice in this day will be found in the real courts of law and not in the corridors of power.
Let us then not lose this opportunity of change - forging on and no turning back from a new dawn for Malaysia.

Another e mail I received yesterday from this dear friend of mine.

"For many of us, today March 9, 2008 is a celebration of victory. It is almost like Merdeka, 31 August 1957 all over again. The people’s cries for justice and freedom have been answered. Let us pray and hope that the winds of change will sweep over the nation and bring about a better Malaysia for Malaysians.

Even as the euphoria starts to ebb, let us not forget that there is much work to be done and also a lot to be undone… injustice and wrongs to set right. And what I wrote in my earlier e mail ‘Great Power equals Great Responsibility’ still stands as a reminder to the current new leaders that they are merely stewards not God…. less their newly given mandate of power goes to their heads and they end up arrogant like their predecessors. May they remain true to their calling to serve the people and the country.
Let us continue to pray for our new leaders and our nation… that we truly will be able to enjoy justice, impartiality and freedom in our land."
